Hike the White Route in Burren National Park
“Discover the stunning beauty of the Burren National Park on the White Route, a 1.5 km moderate hike that offers breathtaking views of the unique limestone landscape and the opportunity to spot rare and protected wildlife.
Starting from this location, the White Route takes you through the park’s karst landscape, characterized by its limestone pavements and rocky outcroppings. Along the way, you’ll come across the famous Poulnabrone Dolmen, a prehistoric burial monument dating back to the Neolithic period.
The Burren is home to a variety of rare and protected species, including the gentian violet and the lesser butterfly orchid, as well as resident sheep and cattle grazing on the limestone.
The White Route is approximately 1.5km and takes around 1-2 hours to complete, making it a perfect hike for nature enthusiasts and hikers of all levels looking to explore the unique beauty of the Burren National Park.

To fully enjoy your hike, be sure to wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring plenty of water as there are no facilities along the route. Also, please note that the route is not suitable for buggies or wheelchairs.
